Typically most airlines require the candidate to fly on raw data (i.e. without using the auto throttle and flight director). We find that most pilots would need a few hours of practice to (a) get familiar with a new aircraft (b) get the feel of the controls and memorise the N1 speeds ranges to remain within tolerances.
